Do you like watching old films? This recently started group is inviting membersof Paisley and District u3a to watch classic movies. It will be in a comfortable environment with refreshments and time to chat beforehand and then some discussion about the movie afterwards.
As Jane said “One of my favourite memories is watching Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Judy Garland on a Sunday afternoon.”
If you are interested in knowing more or have some suggestions for Silver Screen films, please get in touch with the Group Leader, Jane, using the contact link above
Previous Screenings:
In May there was high drama with Joan Crawford Humoresque - perhaps Crawford's finest hour!
Members also watched James Stewart in Mr Smith Goes to Washington - a real feel good film!
In March, some members watched Old Acquaintance, again featuring Bette Davis. Members commented on the quality of both scripts and stories in older films.
In February, the screening was All About Eve starring Bette Davis. A 1950 film centred around the relationship between a highly regarded but aging movie star and an ambitious young fan, it received a record 14 nominations at the 23rd Academy Awards in 1951.
