Chair Yoga Session

The Wednesday group is currently full, but if you are interested in attending and would like to be added to a waiting list, please contact the group organiser, Candy, the group leader using the link above. There is an alternative group on Mondays.

“Chair yoga is a modified form of yoga practiced while seated, offering accessible and gentle benefits for all, especially those with mobility limitations or looking for a more supportive practice. It focuses on maintaining core principles like breathwork and mindfulness while stretching and strengthening muscles.”

Each session starts with a lively chairbased warm up, then we move on (still seated) to stretches for legs, neck and torso, all of which aim to increase flexibility and strengthen our core. There’ s a lot of laughter and encouragement from Margaret and our group members. Our joints may crack (apparently this is a good thing) and we may all turn in different directions but we are progressing steadily.

The minimum number for the group to run is 20. Our excellent tutor is Margaret Moore, who also teaches at the Lagoon. The class meets each week in St. George’s Church, Causeyside Street. There is a council car park to the rear of the church (off Stow Brae) and the first hour of parking is free.
