Our guest was George McCallum, a local Tannahill authority, who told us the story of Paisley poet Robert Tannahill with the recitation of poems and singing of songs.

George eloquently told us about the the life of Tannahill and the backgrouns to some of the peoms and songs. It was an excellent way to end our year.

Tannahill was an accomplished Scottish poet and songwriter, back then being nearly as famous as Robert Burns.  Members were able to join George in singing Wild Mountain Thyme.
