In a change to our programme Valerie, who has spoken on numerous occasions at our monthly meeting was our guest speaker. She delighta the members with a light hearted talk on the subject of Britain.

Britain has a fine tradition of nurturing eccentric personalities. We learned about the strange of antics of some of the weird people that have made Britain 'Great', including 'Curricle' Coates who has been called the worst actor of all time and 'Desperate Douglas' - a nickname given to the 4th Duke of Queensberry, a gambler and womaniser who regularly bathed in warm milk perfumed with almond powder.
