A bus trip to Kirkcudbright, the Artists Town on 1st May, was arranged with a visit to the Scottish National Trust property Broughton House, This was the home of ‘Glasgow Boy’ E A Hornel and hosts an impressive collection of art. There were colourful Japanese inspired gardens to explore as well as a guided tour of Hornel's house and gardens.
In the town, Kircudbright Galleries had interesting exhibitions, with an exhibition of Modern Landscape and a famous Rock Crystal.
The day ended with a meal at the Selkirk Arms Hotel
